Sister Cities International is a nonprofit, citizen diplomacy network that creates and strengthens partnerships between U.S. and international communities to increase global cooperation at the local level. Headquartered in Washington, DC, Sister Cities International promotes sustainable development, youth involvement, cultural understanding, and humanitarian assistance. The Sister Cities International network represents more than 2,500 communities in 134 countries around the world.
Sister Cities International seeks a Development Intern who will assist the Development Director and Executive Director in a variety of projects related to fundraising. Applicants should have an interest in or experience in raising funds for nonprofit organizations. Duties will include researching corporations and foundations, assisting with direct mail and online campaigns, helping with online auctions and with the Partnership & Peace travel program.
Skills, Abilities & Experience:
--Excellent written and communication skills
--Ability to conduct quality research and effectively report on findings
--Ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail
--Proficient at Microsoft Office programs
