WASHINGTON, D.C. - Nathaniel Hibner from Vandalio, Ohio was elected to the Sister Cities International Board of Directors as the Youth Representative during the Annual Board Meeting on July 15, 2006.  The meeting was part of the Sister Cities International 50th Anniversary Conference held in Washington, D.C.

Nathaniel Hibner has led the Vandalia Sister Cities Youth Group as its president for the last three years.  He has also been actively involved in high school activities as class president, president of the Latin Club, Mock Trial Club and Academic Challenge Team.  He planned and led district-wide campaigns for the support of school levies and was a board member on the Vandalia-Butler School District Planning Commission.  Hibner will be attending Boston College this fall as an International Relations major.

"After benefiting greatly from the Sister Cities International organization, I would like to be able to give something back.  I have been actively involved in youth organizations and would like to be able to bring my ideas to the benefit of other youth groups in the world," Hibner said.

Hibner was elected for a one-year term in the Youth Representative position.  Seven candidates were elected to a three-year term to the Sister Cities International Board of Directors.  Also elected to one-year terms were a State Coordinator and a Young Professional Ambassador Association Representative.

Hibner's brother, Jason, was elected to the Sister Cities International Board of Directors as the Young Professional Ambassador Association Representative.
