Awards Program
Each year, Sister Cities International honors the best and most innovative local sister city programs at its Annual Awards Program. The awards showcase the cultural understanding, exchanges and programs for the previous year. The selected programs for 2009 will receive a Sister Cities International commendation during the Lou Wozar Annual Awards Ceremony at the Sister Cities International Annual Conference on Saturday, July 31, 2010, in Albuquerque, NM.Community Awards

Volunteer of the Year Award
In addition to the community awards, Sister Cities International also recognizes individuals or organizations that embody the spirit of citizen diplomacy.The Volunteer of the Year award is given to an individual for their contributions to the sister city movement. It recognizes the leadership and talent that benefit local sister city programs and the larger sister city network.
Individual and Institutional Awards
The Global Corporate Responsibility Award recognizes companies that demonstrate a broad commitment to the citizen diplomacy movement, city-to-city cooperation, and whose work advances the vision of world peace.Previous recipients include:
The Michael A. Guido Distinguished Leadership Award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated exceptional support of the sister city movement and have distinguished themselves as outstanding global leaders of the citizen diplomacy movement.
