How to run for the Board of Directors

Eight Board positions will be open during the Business Meeting at the Annual Conference in Albuquerque, NM. This includes:

• Seven Board positions (three-year terms, 2010-2013)
• One Board position (one-year term, 2010-2011)

The one one-year Board position is to fill the term of a vacated Board member whose term is set to end in 2011. The top eight vote gatherers will be elected at the Sister Cities International Annual Business meeting. The board candidate who collects the least amount of votes will be elected to the one-year term.

It is the policy of the Board of Directors that each candidate applying for one of the above positions, including current directors, must complete an application and provide supplemental information to the Sister Cities International office by June 1, 2010. Please note that items must arrive at Sister Cities International's office by 5:00 EST. Materials received after this date will not be considered as submitted.

Application Packet must include:

• Official Application Form
• Electronic Photograph (300 dpi or higher)
• Official letter from a representative of a dues paying organization or an elected official, endorsing candidacy
