General Information
AlertNet - An expansive non-profit website dedicated to information exchange between humanitarian organizations. It was started in 1997 by Reuters Foundation - an educational and humanitarian trust - to place Reuters' core skills of speed, accuracy and freedom from bias at the service of the humanitarian community. A great resource to keep up with news from around the world on humanitarian emergencies and the work that is being done to alleviate suffering and give hope.
American Red Cross - The American Red Cross, the U.S. organization that has been traditionally known for its active work with blood drives, also works closely with other NGOs and government agencies to perform a host of emergency preparedness and disaster reflief services.
Carelift International - A non-profit organization that provides medical professionals in developing countries with the comprehensive tools and resources needed to save lives and improve global health by leveraging a network of medical equipment and supply donors.
Counterpart International - A non-profit, international human development organization that engages in, among other issues, humanitarian assistance projects that bridge the gap between emergency help and long-term development by delivering material assistance and implementing projects focused on helping communities help themselves long after the foreign aid departs.

Heart to Heart International - A global humanitarian organization that offer a range of aid packaging and distribution services. The are also partnered with a number of organizations in the Operation Iraqi Children Initiative.
Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance (OFDA) - OFDA is the primary agency within the U.S. government that is responsible for directing foreign aid and assistance programs to thousands of non-profit partners and international organizations around the world.
Operation Iraqi Children - An alliance of organizations, including FedEx, Heart to Heart International, People to People International, Sister Cities International and the VFW and VFW Foundation, that help Iraqis children by gathering school supplies in local drives, assembling them in kits, and sending them to Iraq where there are distributed to Iraqi children.

Wheelchair Foundation - The Wheelchair Foundation is a nonprofit organization that creates awareness of the needs and abilities of people with physical disabilities. Their goal is to provide a wheelchair to every child, teen and adult in the world who needs one, but cannot afford one.
United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) - OCHA is the United Nation's response to both complex emergencies and natural disasters, guiding the overall structure of UN humanitarian operations in the field.
