Honor Leaders and Volunteers

The 50th Anniversary Local Government Leadership Circle was established to fully recognize the role of local elected/appointed officials during the first half-century of the sister city movement. Current and/or former elected or appointed officials at the state and local level are eligible to be honored at Sister Cities International's 50th Anniversary Celebration as members of the 50th Anniversary Local Government Leadership Circle.

Criteria for selection are:

Nominees may be living or deceased. 
Each jurisdiction may submit multiple nominations.

The 50th Anniversary Circle of Distinguished Volunteers will honor those citizen diplomats who have volunteered with distinction on behalf of their Sister City partnership.

Local sister city organizations rely on the dedication and support of many outstanding volunteers to ensure programs are successful. You know who they are: they arrange exchanges, host delegations from abroad, chair committees, manage programs, undertake fundraisers and perform the endless tasks that ensure your program is viable and strong. You'll want to begin discussing your nominations now so that your deserving members are properly recognized and acknowledged.

Criteria for selection are:

Nominees may be living or deceased.

Local organizations may nominate as many as six individuals per sister city partnership for the 50th Anniversary Circle of Distinguished Volunteers.
