About The Camp

Are you interested in other cultures, conflict resolution, or a unique chance to promote understanding between the U.S. and Iraq?  If yes, CHECK THIS OUT!

The 2007 Global Citizens Camp will bring American high school students, between the ages of 15 and 18, together with high school students from Iraq for an incredible chance to learn about each other's life and culture. Students from both nations will share ideas for peace-building and community action, and use their talents to make a difference both locally and globally!

The Global Citizens Camp is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, as a part of a month-long program, in which Iraqi high schools students will live with an American host family, then attend the 2007 Global Citizens Camp and lastly spend a week in Washington, DC! The camp is being coordinated by the joint efforts of Legacy International, AMIDEAST, Sister Cities International and the Denver Regional Council of Governments.

This is unique chance for American students to play a role in international relations between the U.S. and Iraq, at a time when it is needed most!
